Altona Forest Ramadan Iftar

On Wednesday, March 4, 2026, Altona Forest Public School invites our students, families, and staff to join together for a Community Iftar in recognition of the holy month of Ramadan. This is a wonderful opportunity for our school family to gather, reflect, and share a meal at no cost to our guests. 

This is a FREE event with a total capacity of 150 attendees. We recommend registering early to secure your spot, as seating will be provided on a first-come, first-serve basis.

About the Community Iftar

This community Iftar is being held to bring together students, families, and staff in a welcoming and inclusive environment. It provides an opportunity to recognize the month of Ramadan while fostering connection, understanding, and a sense of belonging within the school community. Food for the evening is being catered by The Kabab Shoppe.

Iftar Event Itinerary

All times are approximate and will be confirmed closer to the event date.

5:30 PM - Arrival

Guests arrive approximately 15–20 minutes before sunset and are seated at their tables. Craft activities will be available for children.

6:00 PM - Welcome

A brief welcome and opening announcement by a school representative.

6:11 PM - Maghreb Prayer

At sunset, the fast is broken and those observing may perform the Maghreb prayer.

6:15 PM - Iftar

Following the prayer food service begins.

6:45 PM - Children’s Activity

A short, age-appropriate activity for children may take place following the meal.

7:15 PM - Closing

Brief closing remarks and wrap-up.
